Shepherd Neame Essex Cricket League (1st XI's) - Saturday July 23rd 2016

Here is what happened in the weekend's Saturday 1st XI match up's across the four divisions:-

Premier Division
Brentwood 311/5 (50 overs)
Ilford 251/9 (50 overs)
Brentwood won by 60 runs
Fifties from Aaron West (87) Joe Buttleman (59 ret no) and James Redwood (59no) helped hosts Brentwood up to 311/5 with Mohammad Akhtar taking 3-37 for Ilford.  And despite Nigel Jacobs 54 at the top of the order 3-35 from Tom Oakley helped restrict the visitors to 251/9 and see Brentwood take victory.
 
Chingford 166 (39.1 overs)
Chelmsford 261/9 (50 overs)
Chelmsford won by 95 runs
Fifties from Dan Hagen (65) and James Clifford (55) helped Chelmsford post 261/9 with Mubasher Hassan (4-45) & Ben Macregor (3-64) the pick of the Chingford bowlers.  The hosts though never got going batting wise and saw Anthony Hill (3-24) and Karamat Ali (3-37) help dismiss the hosts for 166.
 
Colchester and East Essex 245/3 (48.4 overs)
Buckhurst Hill 241/4 (50 overs)
Colchester and East Essex won by 7 wickets
Russell Beckett struck 93 as visitors Buckhurst Hill posted 241/4, although this wasn't enough as Jack Hebron hit 121 and was well supported by 55no from Tom Ullyott as the hosts reached their victory target with eight balls to spare.
 
Shenfield 268 (49.4 overs)
Hornchurch 245 (45 overs)
Shenfield won by 23 runs
Jack Potticary hit 89 for hosts Shenfield as they were bowled out for 268 with Mohib Shah taking 3-50.  Fifties from Thomas Moore (69) and Billy Gordon (63) had the visitors in touching distance of their target but Tom Ballington (4-42) and Matthew Salisbury (3-32) made sure the hosts took the win, dismissing the visitors for 245.
 
South Woodford 217 (49.3 overs)
Wanstead & Snaresbrook 219/2 (41.3 overs)
Wanstead & Snaresbrook won by 8 wickets
Joe Ellis-Grewal (3-20) and Aron Nijjar (3-39) helped visitors Wanstead bowl out South Woodford for 217 and then the league leaders cruised to their target thanks to fifties from Hassan Chowdhury (88no) and Arfan Akram (73) with 8.3 overs to spare.

Harlow won by 70 runs
Alan Jones struck 101 and their were also fifties from Rehman Ahmed (71) and Hafiz Yawar Afzal (50) as Harlow posted 306/6 against Billericay with Andy Smith (3-32) the pick of the hosts bowlers.  The hosts reply got off to a terrible start and although David Houghton struck 104, Nicky Baxter's 4-11 in seven overs helped see the visitors dismiss the hosts for 236.  

Fives and Heronians 342/5 (50 overs)
Harold Wood 282 (44.4 overs)
Fives and Heronians won by 60 runs
Fahad Iqbal (122), Terry Ballard (79) and Greg Summers (51) were the main contributors to Fives and Heronians massive 342/5.  And despite fifties from Raihan Hussain (82) and Shahbaz Khan (76) the visitors fell 60 runs short, being dismissed for 282 with Rahul Bhome taking 3-27.  

Loughton 244 (50 overs)
Hadleigh & Thundersley 245/6 (50 overs)
Hadleigh & Thundersley won by 4 wickets
Vithullan Sapaetharan's 62 down the order helped push hosts Loughton up to a respectable 244 with Anthony Grosvenor taking 4-57 for the visitors.  Hadleigh & Thundersley's reply was built around Owen Lynch's 106 and despite Harry Watson's 3-28 the visitors reached their target off the final ball of the innings.  

Upminster 181 (45.2 overs)
Southend-on-Sea & EMT 126 (37.4 overs)
Upminster won by 55 runs
Ashleigh McCafferty took 5-27 for the visitors as they dismissed Upminster for just 181 however John Curtis took 3-14 for the hosts as he helped Upminster bowl out the visitors for 126.  

Woodford Wells 214/4 (43.2 overs)
Orsett & Thurrock 213 (47.3 overs)
Woodford Wells won by 6 wickets
Fifties from Daniel Laird (58) and Matt Hills (53) were the backbone to Orsett's 213 all out, with Nabel Shaikh taking 3-42.  Ultimately this proved to be not enough as the hosts saw Jonathan Gaffney score 52 as Woodford Wells reached their victory target with 6.4 overs to spare.

Hainault & Clayhall 215 (46.5 overs)
Belhus won by 35 runs
Danny Joyce struck 61 for hosts Belhus as they posted 250/8 with Khalil Khan taking 3-37 for visitors Hainault.  Irfan Shah (80) and Mousshin Ismail (70) had the visitors at 137/1 but Connor Day (3-30) and Martin Guilbert (3-36) then caused the visitors to fall away and end up 215 all out.  

Horndon On The Hill 277/8 (50 overs)
Gidea Park & Romford 283/6 (44.5 overs)
Gidea Park & Romford won by 4 wickets
Jack Walsh (75) and Damian Sweet (67) helped hosts Horndon to 277/8 against Gidea Park who in their reply saw fifties from Kasi Hoq (89) and Shawn Findlay (66) help see their side to victory with 5.1 overs to spare, this despite Ryan Madder taking 3-88 for the hosts.
 
Leigh On Sea 346/5 (50 overs)
Hutton 252 (34.2 overs)
Leigh On Sea won by 94 runs
Dean Waller's magnificent 141 off just 97 balls, helped with Joe Sexton's 80no from 85 balls, saw Leigh amass 346/5 in their innings, with Tom Patterson taking 3-72 for the battered visitors.  Carl Mumba hit 64 off 50 in reply but no one else could get going and Patrick Groves and Joe Sexton both took 3-50 as they dismissed Hutton for 252.
 
Old Southendian & Southchurch 334/6 (50 overs)
Oakfield Parkonians 250 (45.1 overs)
Old Southendian & Southchurch won by 84 runs
Amit Gupta led the way with 117 and also saw fifties from Chris Bunce (66) and Rob Johnson (64) as OS & S posted 334/6 at Garons Park.  Jibran Azam took 3-57 for the visitors but their reply never really threatened that total, despite fifties from Paran Kalley (73) and Jibran Azam (50) as Amit Gupta took 3-30 in helping dismiss Oakfield for 250.
 
Wickford 282/7 (48.3 overs)
Harlow Town 281/7 (50 overs)
Wickford won by 3 wickets
Fifties from Ashley Alderson (94) and Daniel Farmer (55no) helped Harlow Town recover from 46/3 to post 281/7. However Wickford opener Dale Kinsey hit a 92 ball 104 and laid the platform for the hosts to reach their victory target of 282 with nine ball to spare, despite 3-56 from Shaun Alderson.

Basildon & Pitsea won by 242 runs
Jon Bonnett (115no) and Liam Rouse (108) shared a huge fifth wicket partnership as they helped hosts Basildon post 329/9, with Nomaan Shah taking 3-50) for the visitors.  However West Essex were to get no where near this target and failed to make three figures as Dean Bedford (5-19) and Gary Ayres (3-14) helped demolish the visitors batting line up and dismiss them for just 87 for a huge margin of victory.
 
Epping 282/9 (50 overs)
Westcliff-On-Sea 285/7 (46.1 overs)
Westcliff-On-Sea won by 3 wickets
Salim Mithani scored 122 off 110 balls and Sachin Bawa scored a patient 66 as Epping posted a decent 282/9 with Westcliff bowler Peter Barnes taking 3-36.  However fifties from Matt Renvoize (78) and Jack Stead (65) helped the visitors chase down this total with 3.5 overs to spare, despite Yasin Vadasaria taking 3-59.
 
Stanford Le Hope 199 (48.2 overs) 
Old Brentwoods 213 (48.1 overs)
Old Brentwoods won by 14 runs
Ayaz top scored with 43no for visitors Old Brentwoods as they posted 213 all out but in reply the hosts couldn't chase down these runs as Joseph Pierre took 3-28 as the visitors bowled out the hosts for 199, despite fifties from Shehan Perera (79) and Duncan Page (56).
  
Walthamstow 311/4 (50 overs)
Benfleet 144 (34.1 overs)
Walthamstow won by 167 runs
Fifties from Richard Baughen (89), Asif Bala (54no) and Paul Miller (51no) helped hosts Walthamstow score 311/4 and then set about the Benfleet batting line up, with Rory Knox taking 3-15 as they dismissed the visitors for just 144, with Gavin Blowes the only batsman to cover himself in any glory, hitting 81 off 89 deliveries in a lost cause. 

Woodford Green 220/2 (37 overs)
Ardleigh Green 218 (48 overs)
Woodford Green won by 8 wickets        
Paul Hurworth played a captain's innings in hitting 57 for his side as they posted 218 all out, with Mohammed Hasim taking 3-43 for the visitors.  In reponse the visiting batsmen found life fairly confortable and fifties from Cooper Bingham (66no), Saad Ijaz (52no) and Hussnain Kazmi (51) saw their side home with a massive 13 overs to spare.
